At an undergraduate level, the Chair offers two short educational modules aimed at (1) supporting the freshmen in developing a clearer picture of their potential future professional activities and (2) indroducing the issues of international development in the education of young future professionals, using the perspective of international cooperation for development as a preferential viewpoint.

  • Introduction to Environmental Engineering: this short module (1ECTS) has been introduced at the beginning of the Engineering studies. It uses a combination of active and traditional teaching methods, especially targeted at large group interaction.
  • CIVICAS: this 20-hours module (1ECTS) is offered to last-year undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Trento, and is a joint project between the Chair, other University Departments and the International Cooperation Centre (ICC). It integrates lectures on the social, economical and management dimensions of international development with seminars held by development practitioners directly sharing their experience with students.  All the editions have consisted of two separate modules hosted at the Engineering and at Social Science of the University of Trento, with a total attendance of about 160 students.
